Theme overview

Abdulahi Consulting provide tailored capacity building support based on the unique needs of each client. Our focus extends to critical areas such as fundraising and strategy development, specifically for humanitarian and development actors. Through our support, organisations are better equipped to navigate complex funding landscapes and develop robust strategic frameworks and are empowered to address displacement related challenges.

Fundraising Support

We assist clients in designing and implementing effective fundraising strategies. This includes crafting impactful communications for donors and facilitating meaningful engagement with communities to ensure that key funding priorities are addressed. Our efforts are particularly directed at supporting local civil society organisations (CSOs) and local non-governmental organisations (LNGOs) in the global south, helping them overcome challenges related to accessing secure and sustainable funding streams.

We do not street-based fundraising but offer expert advise on how to approach donors, private entities and philanthropic organizations. Sometimes we work as the link between the donor and local actor and offer matching services based on the values of the donor and the work of the LNGOs/CSO.

Strategy Development

Our team delivers bespoke strategy development services for humanitarian and development actors. We guide organisations through the process of formulating and implementing effective strategies that are aligned with their long-term goals and desired outcomes, ensuring a clear path towards sustainable impact and growth. We focus on local actors who want to link their strategy with their funding outcomes, we address knowledge gaps and offer comprehensive analysis of the business environment for local actors so that they are well equipped to respond in evolving contexts.

Localisation

As advocates of localisation of aid, we offer expert advice and support to local actors and ensure they meet stringent donor requirements, build their capacities and address power imbalances in aid delivery. our actions and efforts are geared towards equal partnerships and creating conducive environment for local actors to access much needed funding.

We also support local actors in preparedness and emergency responses by setting up DRR plans or working with local actors in community-based responses well before international actors respond to emergencies. We see our work in localisation as vital in ensuring sustainability and legitimacy of aid and insist on local solutions for local challenges.
